We imagined a structure would recede into the surroundings and allow experience to take precedent. Quietly, the architecture creates certain constraints that shape the practical nature of everyday activities.
The space acts as a guide, and cultivates a sense of the ceremonial for the most basic modes of living — eating, bathing, resting.
These experiences are submerged into the environment, so that we become attuned to the sound and motion of wind, subtle changes in light, the pressure of falling rain.
The space is pared back to offer nothing beyond the necessary in terms of a functional living area. The focus is on allowing space for thought and sensation that expands our perception.
